DUBAI – Motorists across the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are set to pay significantly more at the pump next month.

The UAE Fuel Price Committee has announced revised petrol and diesel rates for April 2026, reflecting a sharp increase compared to March. The new prices will come into effect from April 1.

New rates

Fuel Type April 2026 Price March 2026 Price
Super 98 Dh3.39 Dh2.59
Special 95 Dh3.28 Dh2.48
E-Plus Dh3.20 Dh2.40
Diesel Dh4.69 Dh2.72

Super 98 petrol will now cost Dh3.39 per litre, while Special 95 is priced at Dh3.28. E-Plus petrol will retail at Dh3.20 per litre. Diesel has recorded the steepest rise, reaching Dh4.69 per litre.

Price mechanism

Fuel prices in the UAE are linked to global markets following deregulation in 2015. Rates are revised monthly based on the average cost of crude oil and refined products internationally.

The UAE Fuel Price Committee determines prices using global benchmarks, including Murban crude, as part of broader market trends. As a result, local fuel rates move in line with international oil price fluctuations, typically with a short lag.
